...sucks! We flew to Los Angeles and boarded a cruise ship for four days. One night I found some alone time in the ship's library and wrote for two hours non-stop. That small window was some of my best writing, but it was only a few thousand words. In one way it was fulfilling, but I know I need to repeat this process multiple times to get The Sacrifice Tree completed before the New Year. For the next two days, I could tell my brain was still "living" in the story, and I found new ideas from my experiences. Now that I'm safely home, the constant stress of work and school is pushing my new ideas away. So, here are a few ideas for future work...
1. Catalina Island becomes a refuge center when the ZA comes (I know I promised I would never do a zombie book!)
2. My character Juliet discovers a portal that leads to a dry desolate planet with two moons and higher gravity.
3. I'm a complete hack, and I should stop now before someone discovers how bad my writing really is.
4. Our countries boundaries become blurred in the future, and people who want to keep their own country identity are branded as intolerant and maligned.
5. A Coast Guard helicopter pilot flying during a nuclear holocaust, trying to find a safe haven for the crew and a small group of survivors they pluck from small boats around the San Diego region. (it's a rough idea right now)
